Museums and Cultural Destinations in Sierra Madre and Pasadena

Sierra Madre museums include some very fun and educational destinations. The offerings include the relaxed and the frivolous as well as the very high-brow. There are also plenty of Pasadena museums to explore and the proximity of that city makes them a natural destination for visitors to Sierra Madre. Some of these museums contain displays that you certainly wouldn’t have expected, and which will be delightful diversions for adults and children alike.

Among the most popular Pasadena museums is the Bunny Museum. This museum contains an enormous collection-over 11,000 items, of toy bunnies of various kinds. Of course, this is one of the most popular museums in the city with children, and can be equally fun for adults. The Bunny Museum is located on Jefferson Drive and is the “Hoppiest Place in the World”, according to the owners. It is situated in a private home, and makes the claim that it has the largest collection of bunnies in the world. This museum is made even more enjoyable by the fact that it is entirely free of charge to anyone, all that is asked is that purses, hats and other such items be checked at the door.

California has a rich heritage and the Pacific Asia Museum celebrates one of the most influential in the area. This museum is located in Pasadena, within easy reach of anyone in Sierra Madre via the Foothill Freeway. There are also museums that are designed to appeal to children, including the Kidspace Museum, also located a short distance off the major thoroughfare. The Pasadena Museum of California Art is also a popular destination. Pasadena has art institutions within it, so there are generally plenty of places to explore by just wandering around the city, as well.

Some of the other popular destinations include the Norton Simon Museum and the Heritage Square Museum, a large facility that is located a short drive away in Los Angeles proper. Sierra Madre benefits from its proximity to so many major urban centers, and there are plenty of other destinations located within a short drive. The city also hosts art festivals, which are excellent excuses to get out to the various galleries and other art venues found throughout the area. Some of the truly unique nearby destinations include the Neon Museum, located in Los Angeles, which features some of the best sign work anywhere.
